Today was a success, just not in the way most people would measure it. sarah, June 14, 2025September 18, 2025 We didn’t make it through the whole show. The lights were too bright, the sound too loud, the crowd too overwhelming. But we made it to intermission, and that was huge. For my son, that was enough. One act of MJ The Musical was more than we thought might be possible. While he took a break in the quiet of the foyer, I stayed with him. And thanks to the kindness of complete strangers who turned on the foyer TV and turned up the volume, I still got to experience the magic from the sidelines. We weren’t in the theatre seats, but we were still there. We were still part of the moment. Sometimes success looks different. It’s not the perfect photo at the end of a show, or sitting through every scene. Sometimes, success is just showing up.Trying.And being met with grace and kindness along the way. Today was a success. Just not in the traditional way, and I’m grateful. Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on X (Opens in new window) X Like this:Like Loading… ADHD Autism Family Parenting

Family The Weight of Being Forgotten May 13, 2025May 13, 2025 It was a simple moment, one that had happened before, and no doubt will happen again. I sat in a group of parents, watching my child compete, a tray of hot drinks handed out with care. Except… mine never came. Forgotten. Again. Not out of malice, just… unnoticed.
